Happy birthday and bye for now to our amazing @alysia.vang ❤️! The VERY best part of my job is being a part of the journey of these amazing young people that come to work in my lab at all different points in their academic journeys. @alysia.vang joined my lab just before the COVID lockdown, having never worked with a cow and said, I want to work on the cow project. She took on the most challenging and long project that was a pipe dream between myself and @digitallivestock. After a PhD, a post-doc, and a body of work that has led to a feasibility study in humans, she’s off to @uwsmph to continue on her journey to work in women’s health. What I will miss most is her kindness, her big heart, her big laugh, and her care for everyone else around her. The patients who will be under her care will truly be so lucky to have her! @natinhat@waneskafrizzarini@juleeyah@_leoralew_@kennagirl6
Congrats to @madelynseidl who got into Iowa State University Vet School and @_leoralew_ on their excellent job on their poster presentations yesterday! I have been lucky to have so many amazing undergrads in my lab, and @_leoralew_ was my inaugural high school student! Our work doesn’t get accomplished without the amazing work of the whole team!

I have the most amazing lab! Mentoring is the best part of my job and what brings me joy in the day to day of academic life. @alysia.vang@tanyafrance@natinhat@kennagirl6@aakoops Julia Jiménez and missing @billy2mb and Isaiah Roberts. These students are the future of science ❤️
What a fast an awesome trip to the Cargill innovation center in Minnesota! It was so fun to take a tour and talk science with Paola and Guillermo! @tanyafrance thanks for embarking on a very wintry trip in a car full of feces!
Congrats to the amazing @alysia.vang for her acceptance into med school at UW med school and @tanyafrance for her outstanding job offer! It was a fantastic week in the lab and I couldn’t be more happy for them ❤️!
It was a great Halloween teaching in An Sci 101 today all about lactation. It was good to see my friend Eric Ronk dressed up as well 😊! Hopefully our new students develop an enthusiasm for lactation! @uwanimaldairysciences
